It's just called onion soup here

Updated: May 7, 2018

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit France. I was able to revisit Paris and experience Strasbourg for the first time. I ran into quite a few transportation problems, but eventually, after an unplanned night in Munich, a train ride I couldn't afford, and a 9 mile walk, I arrived in Paris. Not all who wander are lost, but I sure was. I lost my glove, but found my parents so even with all the chaos I am happy with how the trip turned out!

It was a quick trip in Paris. Highlights included seeing the stunning stained glass walls of Sainte-Chapelle and watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at the top of the hour.

Our next stop was snowy Strasbourg.

Strasbourg is a quite town at the French and German border. Here I went on a boat tour around the canal that surrounds the city center and ate, in my opinion, the best chicken cordon bleu in the world.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is unbelievably large. No matter where I stood, it was impossible to get a picture of the whole thing.

A highlight of Strasbourg (other than the chicken cordon bleu) was having the chance to walk to Germany. We were able to cross through countries barrier free. Something to be said about building bridges instead of walls.

How I am feeling: Seeing my parents brought up some feeling of missing home and certain people there. However, they brought me peanut butter and Lucky Charms so at least I have some comforts of home :)

What's Next: Back in Innsbruck for two days of class and then off on yet another trip. This time I will be headed to Prague and Budapest. I can't wait to see what eastern Europe has to offer!
