Today I traveled from Charleston, SC to Washington D.C (about a 600 mile journey each way) so I could apply for my Austrian Visa. After a month of scrambling to get all my papers in order for the meeting I finally arrived at the Austrian Embassy. With my stack of papers and passport in hand, I was ready to answer whatever questions they had for me. There was, however, only two questions. "Could I have your papers?" and "Do you have $123?" My answer was yes and I was on my way. 16 hours seems like a lot of driving for a 5 minute meeting, but hey, I'm one step closer to Austria. 25 more days!
